The 2 week experiment reached its end Sunday night and I weighed myself yesterday morning first thing. In two weeks of drinking red wine every night before bed I lost 1.8 lbs. This brings my total weight loss to 11.6 lbs in just under 2 months. Not bad, not bad at all.
Again there’s no real way to tell if the red wine made a huge difference or not and I still worked out and counted the calories of everything I consumed, even the wine. We’ll see how I do in the next 2 weeks and compare when I just have a glass of wine occasionally.
So after my my last glass of my detox tea a friend sent me this link. I joked maybe I should try drinking 1 or 2 glasses of red wine every night for 2 weeks and see what happens. The more I thought about it the more it sounded like a fun and interesting experiment. I already enjoy having a glass of wine with dinner, doing that every night won’t change my routine much and if anything I should sleep well. So last night after boxing class I went to Trader Joes and picked up 6 different bottles. The cashier of course asked when the party was because the only other things I bought was some mozzarella, tomatoes (for my greek pita pizza dinner, see that post here), honey, mangos and olive oil. I told him I was doing a experiment and he agreed that drinking 2 glasses of red wine a day was a pretty good experiment.
So here we go! I started last night. Cheers!
Yesterday was my last day. I made it 2 weeks with no drinking. That was the hard part, especially with the holiday weekend. No fast food and everything else was easy. I don’t eat fast food anymore anyway.
Visual : I looked at the pictures I took. I look exactly the same, so I don’t see the point of even posting them. No visual results.
Weight : The first week I lost 1.4 lbs, as of this morning I lost another 3 lbs. So I lost a total of 4.4 lbs in 2 weeks. Pretty good, maybe I’d loose even more if I did the 30 day cleanse? Who knows? Maybe it would of worked even better if I hadn’t done it over a holiday weekend, although I didn’t eat a crazy amount of food and I didn’t drink at all.
How do I feel? : I did sleep great which was something I had been having trouble with.
Will I do it again? : I think I will if I hit a plateau, maybe it’ll help me through that.
Extra Thoughts : I have over a bag left over, they sent me 2 bags which makes me wonder if I misunderstood the directions. The bags said to measure out 2 full teaspoons of tea, which I did, but maybe they meant actual spoons so it would of been 2 tablespoons. I don’t think 2 tablespoons would of fit in the tea diffuser though.

Well it’s officially been a week. As of this morning I’ve lost 1.4 lbs. Not bad, but not my best. I don’t know if it’s the tea or just diet and exercise. The tea is good though. I enjoy drinking it, especially after I added a bit of honey into it. Makes it more of a beverage for me and less like medicine I’m making myself drink. I have been sleeping great. I seem to fall asleep immediately when I go to bed, which usually would only happen when I had an exhausting day. So I’m feeling pretty good. We’ll see where I am in another week.

I did in fact get my tea detox delivered yesterday.
I made my first cup this morning. Not bad, rather herby tasting. The instructions were really easy to follow. Just 2 teaspoons of the loose tea in the infuser and let it steep for 5 minutes. So while it was doing that I had enough time to floss and wash my face. I got my starting weight this morning and I’ll be taking a before picture so we’ll see what happens!

I started a new job in February at an International Health Supplement company. It’s awesome, I love it. So I decided to really kick myself into shape and take advantage of my new benefits. I started taking a boxing class. I started with once a week, now it’s twice a week. 1 boxing class and 1 kickboxing class a week. I got myself a Fitbit Charge HR a couple weeks ago. I absolutely love it! I track everything I eat and all the water I drink on My Fitness Pal and weigh myself regularly. I lost 4.6 lbs in the first week that I started tracking!
This all sounds good right? You’re wondering where the obsessed part comes in. This week I’m starting the 30 Day Plank Challenge, plus I’ll be starting a 14 day tea cleanse later this week. So tonight I have my hour long boxing class, then my first plank hold and as soon as my tea is delivered I’m starting the cleanse. Plus I also started coconut oil pulling. I think I might be a bit obsessed with health & fitness.
